About me
Janice Rice is an enrolled member of Ho-Chunk Nation and is an educator, emerita librarian, environmentalist, and indigenous dancer. I would enjoy talking with fellow educators and emerging educators about ways to reach young people and share ideas about the lands and waters of the Midwest. I appreciate the natural world and would enjoy talking about teaching, learning, and sharing values. ~ I'm originally from Tomah, WI, but I have relatives in Nebraska and enjoy the landscape from the Great Lakes to the Great Plains. I have lived in urban settings as well and enjoy access to research collections and amenities therein. I hope that we can inspire more young people to appreciate the landscape, waters, and cultures of our communities.
