About me
Amanda Farrar is an Outreach Program Associate Director in the Professional Learning and Community Education (PLACE) office at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education. She collaborates with faculty to develop programs that bring research and practice into communities, advancing the Wisconsin Idea. She co-founded Whoopensocker with Dr. Erica Halverson, an arts-based learning program that has served Madison elementary schools since 2015.
An arts administrator, educator, and practitioner, Amanda holds bachelor’s degrees in Dance and English from Webster University and a Master of Arts Management from Columbia College Chicago. Prior to her work at UW-Madison, she was a professional dancer, co-founded multiple businesses, and led several nonprofit initiatives.
