“How long does it have to be?”
“Is this graded?”
“Can we have the rubric first?”
What if we created classroom communities where students instead asked “when do we get to write”? Join us for this interactive session and engage in a variety of low-stakes writing activities you can turn around and use to bring summer vibes to your classroom all year long. Whether you want to add fun writing activities to your classroom, get kids more comfortable writing and sharing with one another, help students use writing as a tool for thinking, or create a classroom environment where students can respectfully explore difficult and controversial issues, this is the session for you. Write with us, share with one another, and leave with a plan for how you can use low-stakes writing that inspires joy, creativity, community, decision-making, and deep and meaningful learning.
In this session, you will:
- Develop an understanding of how to use writing to build community.
- Develop a set of writing to learn strategies that can be used across grade-levels and content areas.
- Experience joyful writing.
